After i got my Apple TV 2 jailbroken and installed XBMC on it I started to try and play some mkv files on it. I quickly discovered that it was pure misery. The movie wouldn’t buffer like they should and some wouldn’t even play. I startet googling and discovered a lot of people with the same problems as me. To get it fixed you have to install XBMC Nightly Builds. It has something to do with the lastes version of iOS. After it’s done the files will play like they should. You can see how to install it below.

Polar Clock 3.0 is the name of my new screensaver for OS X. It’s a round clock and it’s awesome! I like the alternative way it shows the time and the colors it uses. You can get it for free here.

The feature simple isn’t there in POS Ready 2009, MS didn’t put it in there. I was working on figuring this out at work together with MS Premium support. Finally we found out that it wasn’t included in this OS by the embedded product team. The MS tech I talked to said that we could try to use the one from Windows XP. I tried it and it works. There could by a license issue by doing it, so MS advised us to make our own binary.

Editing the hosts file

Editing the hosts file in Mac OS X – Snow Leopard, is a pretty easy task, especially if you are familiar with the terminal.

Step 1 – Open the Terminal.app

Either by start typing Terminal on the Spotlight, or by going into Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal.

Step 2 – Open the hosts file

Open the hosts by typing on the Terminal that you have just opened:

sudo nano /private/etc/hosts

Type your user password when prompted.

Step 3 – Edit the hosts file

The hosts file contains some comments (lines starting with the # symbol), as well as some default hostname mappings (e.g. 127.0.0.1 – localhost).
Simply append your new mappings underneath the default ones. Or edit one of the default values if you know what you are doing!
You can navigate the file using the arrow keys.

Step 4 – Save the hosts file

When done editing the hosts file, press control-o to save the file.
Press enter on the filename prompt, and control-x to exit the editor.

Step 5 – Flush the DNS cache

On Leopard you can issue a simple Terminal command to flush the DNS cache, and have your host file changes to take immediate effect:

dscacheutil -flushcache

You can now test your new mapping on the browser!

Delevery Status is an iPad/iPhone app that keeps track of you shipments. The app is simple made yet very powerfull for what it does. As you can see on the screenshot you also get a map of where you’re shipments are in the world.

Just received a new iPad case to test. It’s named Yooboa and my first impression is that it works great. It’s thin and very light weight to work with.

We just got a Croozer for the bike (and walking) about a month ago. The kids are loving it and we also think it’s great!
